Hi I'm Matt Halfhide the founder and specialised fitness trainer. Here at Matt Halfhide Fitness my aim is to bring a new lease a life to everyone I see. I offer 1 to 1 sessions where I come directly to your home to deliver health and fitness to your door. Or you can find me at one of my ever expanding classes. Every session is built upon a foundation of realistic targets with engaging, unique and diverse training methods. As well as improving your health, I want you to enjoy the sessions. A specialist in training those over 50 but welcome anybody who would like some help.
If you would like a personalised program where I can work with you to achieve your goals this is the option for you. Before you pay a penny I will come round FREE of charge and have a chat with you and discuss what you need and what I can offer. From there I will create a program for you. If you are happy we can then begin with session prices starting at just £25 per session.
At any classes I run there are two aims. First is to get a good workout in. Second is to have a fun sociable time. Not all exercise classes need to be torture, you can still feel the benefits and enjoy yourself. I welcome ever new class member with open arms and bad jokes. There will be different classes to suit everyones needs and fitness levels. On top of that if there are any classes you would like to see drop me a message and I will look into adding it to the schedule.
Here I specialise in training those over the age of 50. As a fully qualified personal trainer with experience in working in gyms I have specialised in training to focus on those over 50 and the needs to go with that. If its to get you back to a previous level of fitness when you were younger or just to be able to get up and around the house easier I can help you. Smart, dynamic and engaging methods to build strength, improve flexibility and increase confidence. On top of that to sweeten the deal we can chat about anything to make the exercise feel better.
As well as running classes within the community I also specialise in running exercise classes specifically for care homes and supported living accomodation. These classes will cater for the specific needs of the residents aiming to build confidence and improve independence. However just as important is the physical aspect is the social aspect. These classes will bring residents together to have some fun and a laugh to get the mind working as well as the body.

Matt has been coming to help my Husband since the beginning of May and I would like to say what an incredible difference Matt has made to his life. From my Husband always needing my help to get out of a chair to being able to do this himself, do sit and stand exercises, walk a lot more without a stick and feel so much better in himself and given him the encouragement to want to do more. Everyone has noticed such a difference in him.
Following an illness my mobility was very bad. Then I got a flyer put through the letter box advertising fitness exercises for over 50’s and contacted the instructor Matt. He came to the house and gave a free consultation where I was impressed and booked a full course of sessions. My body is loosening up and I can certainly recommend this young man for his expertise and good manner in getting us older people mobile again.
All my working life has been spent in physical jobs. In more recent years I had noticed problems in managing physically to the point where getting up and down the stair in one go wasn’t possible. The doctor identified muscle waste so Matt has provided 1-1 sessions that has worked on rebuilding that muscle. I have noticed improvement where I can now manage stairs again and carrying on working is possible which was not something that I thought could happen.
